You know those big fancy laundry rooms you see that our the size of your Master Bedroom? Ya. Ive never had one of those. Laundry closets are all I've ever known. I think a lot of you can relate especially if you have bought an older home, are renovating or live in the city where square footage is precious. But that doesn't mean us small laundry closet-ers don't have to skimp on beauty, functionality or style.
Below is some inspiration Ive been looking at while planning our laundry closet refresh. They. Are. Ah--mazing!
The difference in mine...is it is a rental and I am designing it on-tha-cheap! So everything needs to be removable/temporary and I would love to be able to take most of it with me when I leave. So that means I am looking at items that I can use in my next place. Scroll thru for some serious small-small laundry eye-candy and go to the bottom to see my plan for our space.
Look at how functional this space and man is it pretty too. I think the Louvered Doors are my favorite part.
This one by Lauren McBride is soooo good. I love the window she left for natural light and the open shelving for baskets. She also installed a DIY folding countertop that has me wishing I could do that too.
This might be the most chic laundry closet ever. (insert drool on chin)
This has been my inspiration for the last month. The decals, the monochromatic color scheme is crazy good.
Wallpaper is always a good idea in small spaces like laundry closets and powder rooms. Those are areas where it is safe to take risks and go bold. This wallpaper takes this entire closet to a whole new level.
So beautiful! This is a more permanent option for those who want to invest their time to tile. It definitely gives it a timeless look that will last years to come.
The little laundry "nook" is what dreams are made of and would be totally achievable with existing cabinetry! The vertical wood paneling adds texture and warmth to the all white.
Say what?! By going vertical they were able to add lots of storage and visual space to the tiny area. I love all the details.
The painted gray uppers contrast against all the crisp whites. Very minimalistic and cohesive.
What a great idea?! If you have the wall space...change out your builder grade doors for sliding barn doors. Its all just so good!
No one does small space style like Emily Henderson. Her wallpaper choice and even her dang cleaning supplies all look amazing!
our laundry closet plan
I have been wanting to do something like this for forever and the husband finally agreed to a small budget. I swear those are my most favorite projects. The restraints push me and require more grit and creativity.
Anyone that knows me knows I LOATH laundry. But lately I have been trying to change my attitude about it and remember how blessed we are to have so many articles of clothing that I cannot/do not keep up with it.
Re-doing the laundry closet in our rental may not seem like a wise choice but I spend a lot of my time here and I decided having it pretty would make me happier to be in that area of the house. So here are the goals I set for myself.
$115! Thats it. Like I said before I am doing this on-tha-cheap and I wasn't kidding!
I knew I wanted wallpaper and it to be very light and airy seeing as there is no natural light in this closet.
I also wanted a pretty way to display detergents and hide all the cleaning supplies. I already own a few things like the wicker baskets, wool balls, plant, tray, towels, frames and washer and dryer (obviously). I am loving how it is turning out!
Plant \\ Stopper Bottle \\ Jar with Swing Lid \\ Glass Spray Bottle \\ Wicker Storage Basket \\ Wallpaper
1/2 Gallon Amber Growler \\ Wool Balls \\ Tray \\ Art Print \\ Printable Quote (coming soon)
What do you think? Even my husband kinda liked it! We are going to work on it today and I'll give y'all a final cost breakdown and everything soon once it is finished.
Happy Saturday!
