One of my personal design "rules" when creating a space is that every room needs something black. Do you agree? I have been a long time lover of the color and leading industry designers are using it everywhere to create drama and moody interiors. I use to make fun of my Mom for always wearing black growing up and now I find myself gravitating towards the color in my wardrobe, my interior designs and my home. (Sorry Mom.)
Here is why.
I think it doesn't get more classy than black.
It grounds a space.
You can use black to create drama, interest and contrast in a room.
It can break up a monochromatic or colorful space to neutralize it a bit and add a cohesiveness.
In our last home we decided to paint our tiny kitchen cabinets black and it was probably the best decision we made. It also sold that house in my opinion.
WAYS TO USE BLACK PAINT:
Windows
Doors
Board and Batten
Ceilings
Trim
Furniture
All of the paints below I have personally used on projects. I have liked each of them for different reasons but they are tried and true by yours truly. Front doors, furniture, cabinetry are just a few places I have applied the below colors and they all turned out fabulous.
Now I want to go paint something black! Tell me what you favorite black paint projects has been.
