5 ways to add pink to your home

Blush. Coral. Rose. Salmon. It all stems from that beautiful but sometimes controversial color PINK. I have never been a lover of pink especially when I was younger. I was a red-headed Tomboy and felt like it didn't go with my freckled pasty skin, red hair or my image! HA! Since I've grown up (just a little) I've discovered grown up pinks and let me just say how "reformed" my opinion is when is comes to the color pink. Why have I changed my tune about it you ask? Let me count the ways with a little color psychology for you...

It has a calming and peaceful affect.

Evokes emotion and sensitivity.

Represents femininity, gentleness and nurturing.

So what's not to love?! No wonder it is one of the colors used to represent Valentine's Day. I've put together some ways you can add a little pink around your house whether it be subtly or in a big way.

1 || PILLOWS

Probably the easiest way to add a little pink is to do it with accent pillows. It mixes well with almost any style and color scheme. If you use a softer shade of pink and also adds a little sophistication.

2 || DRAPERY

A little pink drapery adds a softness and femininity to a room with very little effort. I'm thinking about doing this for my little girls room just because she will love me forever and think I am the best Mom. But take a look at these rooms and the softness of the pink that adds so much to the feeling of the room.

3 || ACCESSORIES

Not sold yet?! Well here is probably your best approach to baby-stepping it into the pink scene. Accessories. I'm talking lamps, vases, storage boxes, books, artwork and anything else that will help create a pretty shelfie moment while still keeping things pretty safe and non-committal.

But most risks are worth taking and this is no exception. In some spaces it is used to create a chic and soft look while in others it definitely has a more playful eclectic feel.
