Okay so I'm not a web designer but it is a start! The blog is functional but it could use a little more lovin' and my website still needs to be updated with pictures and other things. I'm trying to stay positive and remind my OCD-Type A personality to chill and just enjoy the ride. I'm putting together my own website so there is a HUGE learning curve. But the excitement over blogging again is unreal! I have missed it and I just didn't realize how much until I started in on this post. So thanks for visiting, thanks for following. I am still amazed that people actually want to follow and take advice from little ol' me and it is humbling every-time I get too wrapped up in numbers. So thanks!

Now! On to the good stuff!

Am I a food blogger??? Absolutely not. No way. Not even close. But I do like to share some good finds occasionally. Or whenever the planets align and I have created something original, you better bet y'all will be hearing about it. I never understand those people who are stingy with recipes. 90% of the time I bet it isn't even theirs to begin with. Sorry, anyway...about the recipe. I think my Mother-In-Law came across it like 8 years ago in a "science backed baking magazine". You know those ones you can subscribe to and they give you all the reasons why you do things a certain way and how to get the best possible outcome. Its basically a novel for every. single. recipe. But, this one was definitely exceptional. I wish I could remember where it came from so I could give them credit. But alas, I cannot.

They are slightly crunchy on the outside, chewy in the middle, dense and have amazing flavor.

Basically the best cookies ever!

Holiday Molasses Cookiesmakes about 20-24 cookies----prep time 15 min----cook time 35-45 min

INGREDIENTS NEEDED

----1/3 cup of sugar

----1/3 cup of packed dark brown sugar

----1 large egg yolk

----1 tsp of vanilla

----1/2 cup of molasses

----2 1/4 cups of flour

----1 tsp of baking soda

----1/4 tsp of salt

----1 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon

----1 1/2 tsp of ground ginger

----1/2 tsp of ground cloves

----1/4 tsp of ground allspice

----1/4 tsp of black pepper

----1/2 cup of sugar (for dipping)

1 // Preheat oven to 375* F

2 // Cream together the butter, sugars, egg yolk, molasses and vanilla until well mixed.

3 // In a separate bowl combine all the dry ingredients and stir together.

4 // With the mixer on low speed, slowly add in dry ingredients to the wet. Turn the speed up until a notch or two until it is mixed very well.

5 // Roll or scoop out balls and then roll each ball in the remaining 1/2 cup of sugar. Place on parchment lined cookie sheet.

6 // Take a flat bottom glass and press cookie balls down until they a semi-flat.

7 // Bake in oven for 10-11 min.

8 // Take out of oven and let cool on rack for a few minutes.

That little reaching for the cookie is a money shot!

ENJOY!
